That's why we're here to help. Once you and your spouse understand what it means to love and respect, relational landmines can be avoided. The result can be greater love, deeper intimacy and movement toward the kind of marriage that God desires for you.
The “Love and Respect” couple’s series focuses on nurturing successful relationships and conflict resolution. The small group begins January 24th at 6:30pm and continues every Friday for 6 weeks. Childcare and light refreshments will be provided. Study guides are available for only $10. All couples are welcome to join!
Husbands are commanded to love (agape: unconditional, godly) their wives. Wives are commanded to respect their husbands. Why aren’t we both commanded to love and respect equally? Because God made us different. Men naturally respect and women naturally love. It’s who we are. God made a point to command us to do the thing that is opposite our nature. To do something opposite our nature requires humility and obedience to God.
If there are two words that can make or break a marriage, they are Love and Respect. These two are essential — the very gears that keep a marriage flourishing when they are practiced and applied, or bring it to a painful and grinding halt when they are neglected. However, the present age has taken the lens away of these simple and important principles. It’s crucial we bring the focus back to these truths, back the true design of men and women, husband and wife, and their roles in a happy, flourishing marriage.
