In 1983, Hall’s band, Fun Boy Three, released their version of Our Lips Are Sealed. Issued as a single, the track became top ten hit in the UK, and remains the best known version of the track there — the Go-Go’s version, while a hit elsewhere, only made number 47 in UK.

Our Lips Are Sealed was written by Jane Wiedlin and The Specials and Fun Boy Three singer Terry Hall. It was first released as a single in the USA in June 1981. The single eventually reached top 5 in Australia and Canada, and top 20 in the United States. Although originally written and performed with three verses, it is an abbreviated version of the song that appears on Beauty and the Beat.

Parents need to know that Our Lips Are Sealed is a 2000 romp that once again focuses on the girls finding cute boys and traveling to interesting foreign locales all while touting the virtues of education, decency, and being true to oneself. The movie blandly recalls the broad comic style of ; it brings them to Australia, where they hide out in the FBI's Witness Protection Program. Expect to see teenagers wearing bathing suits and kissing each other.

The Go-Go's first hit single, "Our Lips Are Sealed," was written by guitarist Jane Wiedlin and Terry Hall of with whom she was briefly romanticly involved although he had a girlfriend. Hall sent Wiedlin the lyrics and she wrote the music and finished the song. Hall later covered the song with his new wave band Fun Boy Three () which hit #7 in the UK pop charts.
