The riggers apprentice covers the handling of ropes, like how to coil a line. Coiling a line is one of the most basic boating skills. Coiling involves twisting the line as you coil so the line is not tangled. You can learn how to do this so your dock lines are perfectly coiled.
The Compete Riggers Apprentice, was first printed in 1984, is today considered an authoritative text on the subject of rigging. The first rigging company I contacted said yes we have it, but you should get an updated version as ours is old. They said it is a very good primer for the subject.
