This is a very touching segment on the ever-exuberant Mickey Rooney and the mavelous talent he possesses. Not long ago on TCM, Robert Osborne interviewed Mickey, as I’m sure you know, and I was so touched by the man’s sheer humility and for his great fortune in being able to contribute in some small way to the entertainment industry. He was almost shy and apologetic about all the adulation afforded him, yet so grateful and appreciative. Such a breath of fresh air from all those who feel so entitled today. Who can hold a candle to the young Mickey Rooney? Are you still searching? I thought so.
A very young Mickey Rooney (then still Mickey McGuire) makes silly faces for the camera. Circa 1920s.
